LCD price drop
I knew back in February when I purchased my Samsung 32" LCD for $1300 that the price would drop in a few months, but $300-$500 less for a newer model in just six months!

Technological change will always do this, if you wait another six months something else will come along, better or cheaper. There is no best time to jump in.

Wow! I had no idea the prices were dropping like that. I've got a 27-inch regular TV I bought in 1994, so I know I'll be in the market for a major upgrade sometime before long.
Sorry to hear about your timing, EW. Just try to pretend you never saw the price drop!

I waited and now I'm going to get new 55" or so LCD 1080p soon. The prices have dropped drastically and now I can justify dropping the cash on a set.

I bought my 42" Philips LCD about two months ago for $950 shipped (normally the Tv goes for $1500) to my door. Gotta love having friends in the industry!

That's what I'm saying. News broke a whiiiiile back that there was going to be significant price drops on LCD’s because of some technical breakthroughs they made that would make LCD’s cheaper. But almost a year later and IMO LCD’s were pretty much as expensive as ever. Plasma’s might soon go extinct. They’re still too expensive to make so unless they do something soon they won’t be able to keep up with LCD’s price. It’s a shame because the best lcd’s still aren’t as good as the best plasma’s. Close but not quite there. Hell I’m happy though, I hope a couple of years from now when I upgrade my TV they’ll have a 60+ inch LCD for an affordable price.
