At work we just put up our Christmas Tree...yes I did say Christmas Tree. A few people have already made comments about a Holiday tree and I kept saying yeah the Christmas Tree. The way i look at it, if it is going to be labled a Holiday Tree then Christmas is over.

People this day and age need to get their $hit stright.

I think in order to fit in with the new movement we'll have to replace ugly with "unique" as to not offend,

I think this is the point. If you don't know you don't know. You don't have to intend to offend someone for that to be the consequence. My high school team was the Warriors long after my graduation a native american student found it offensive and we became the Falcons. I didn't and don't like it but someone found it legitimately offensive, I can live without the team being called the Warriors even though there are several types of Warriors. I personally don't mind trying to find ways NOT to offend people. This really shouldn't be news but it is. At least people can have dialogue about something like this without someone being thrown in jail and given 500 lashes.

My high School team was called the "Cherokees" until several years after I graduated. Now they are called the "Hurricanes". I don't know the full story of the name change but I do know that some group not even associated with the school was offended by the name.

I'm just suprised that the name "Hurricanes" hasn't been dropped in light of the recent catastrophe in New Orleans. Wouldn't want cause anyone any mental anguish you know...
