Bradstreet Punisher Max covers

Punisher Max is one of my favorite monthly reads. I have alway's felt that Tim Bradstreets covers for this title were just fantastic. I was disappointed when I heard that both Garth and TB were leaving.

Here are a couple of Punisher Max covers in my collection. Enjoy.

Barracuda and The Punisher getting ready to rumble.

Cover Punisher Max #32 Original and published

Punisher in gas mask locked and loaded.

Cover Punisher Max #57 Original and published.

very cool! All of Bradstreet's Punisher covers were awesome. And the last time I looked, the covers were not that badly priced.

I love his art but it just drives me crazy that there is a pencil and ink cover and then a painted cover. I'd want both.

Here is the info posted on Splashpageart.com

Tim uses models and photo reference for most all of the characters that he draws. He creates a photo collage in Photoshop of the cover he is illustrating. He prints this out and then uses it as a base to draw from. Tim draws the image onto a piece of vellum in pencil. He then dry transfers the pencils onto a comic art board, and then inks over the pencils to create the pen & ink original. Tim then makes a high quality print onto a watercolor art board and uses it as a base to paint over. Tim collaborates with Grant Goleash, and they work together to complete the watercolor painting that becomes the finished published cover.

That information is actually out of date. According to Mark Hay Bradstreet stopped doing the painted covers when he started the Punisher Max series. There is only one original for the Punisher Max series.

I agree with you though. If there were painted versions of these I would want that instead. That's why I asked Mark specifically about that. So go get you some Bradstreet goodness .

That's good to know. I need to talk to Mark and have him update that info as its always scared me away from buying Bradstreet's art.

One of the downsides is that the coloring is done on a computer now and background stuff is also added. On the #57 cover I wish the background were drawn on the original (The smoke punisher symbol). It would have been a nice touch.
