Cover the eyes with silly putty, sticky tack or tape to protect them from being painted.
I hung the T-800 on a coathanger, and posed him in the 'Leonardo' pose.
I used an automobile lacquer primer. A light 'dusting' coat first. Let it fully dry. Then heavier coats, very thin paint, low pressure, even coats on all the different sides, close so paint doesn't dry before hitting figure.
Blow the figure again to remove any dust, etc.
I used Alclad's Gloss Black Base. Now, this stuff was sticky and didn't want to dry very fast compared to my primer. Like the primer, use a light dusting for the first coat AND LET IT DRY FULLY. Be careful about dust when it's drying... a bumpy surface will ruin the look of chrome (unless you are doing a Terminator: Salvation version).
I painted 3 coats to hit it from as many angles as possible and let it dry for 48 hours fully.
