Trinity Bookends

These are a bit disappointing. Would have loved to have brought these home as we have big fan of each in the house. As you go down the alphabet they get worse.

Batman has potential, Superman is mediocre but Wonder Woman is horrible. Her porporions are all distorted and her limbs are out of wack. This is all compounded by that enormous hair...

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Such an easy pass for me. Then there's the fact that these are bookends. "Trinity"... bookENDS. Maybe someone has done this before, but it still seems odd to me. You need that third bookend for...?

I'll say one thing - the quality of those at least match the source material.

Not only did we not need more Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman pieces from DC Direct, but these seem really low-end.

Yeah, kinda looks like something you'd see in the old Warner Bros Store.

Waited a LONG time to get these, but just did - and they arrived today. Got a GREAT deal on them from a very generous well known comic shop who are fans of ExperienceTheWonder.com and thought my collection was lacking without them.

First, off the box is HUGE - I thought I just received a chainsaw or something.

Anyway, I must say - they exceeded my expectations out of the box. I was expecting low quality and disappointment but they are actually quite nice in person.

Wonder Woman of course is the reason I wanted the set and she is much better in production than the horrible paint master shown in the original post could have ever hoped to be.

The sculpts are total cheesecake and Wonder Woman is completely anatomically out of proportion, but they do evoke Bagley's art style well enough to be a tribute to the series. I'm so glad Jim and the crew over there at DC Direct changed her yellow to metallic gold and gave her a modern age color palette overall with darker reds and blues and a star pattern that does not seem like an on-ramp to... well y'know. The darker color palette works much better with the whimsical sculpting style.

I'll have a full exhibit up soon and will come back to share a link to it, which will include photos from all angles, close-ups, packaging and more.

I got #094/500 and - if you are on the fence and can find a good deal on these - they are a worthy addition to the collection of other completists, like me!

Any pics? The ones from Toy Fair 2009 didn't make the piece look that good.

holy cow... these look just bad. They look like something cheesy from the 70's. Is DC Direct kidding? This looks like something Mattel would put out for a low cost. This is by no means a DC Direct Quality item. IMHO of course!
