The Season 1 Blu-ray set was just added to Amazon for pre-order today. Hopefully it will be available before year's end. I agree that marketing it around Winter would be a great tactic.

Hopefully that continues and nobody posts spoilers from the books but it might not hurt to change the title to: "Potential Series Spoilers - NO Book Spoilers Please"

When True Blood first started someone who read the Sookie Stackhouse books killed all the fun of watching the show for those of us who hadn't read the books. Any time we would try to guess what was going on this person would come in with "I can tell you from reading the books that's not going to happen" or "that's not who she is". It was really ticking me off.

That would suck. I think at that point the thread becomes toxic and you have to avoid it in order to retain the enjoyment of experiencing the story for the first time through the series. Hopefully nothing like that happens with this thread. So far so good.

I would be avoiding this thread, and any other had I not read the books. I hate being spoiled. However there are some who just loves it. My girlfriend for instance, kept begging me (and continues to do so), on what will happen next. Of course, the non spoiler in me refused to oblige her. I wanted to have her experience the sheer joy/shock that Martin brings to the table. It's one of a few stories, books and movies, that I can say I have no clue, (although I have my theories), as to what will transpire. Man, I can't not wait for A Dance with Dragons... Only a few more weeks!!!!
