Sorry, but the failure here is on GG's part not the fan base. No one is asking for a freebee, or demanding anything unreasonable. Just some basic info about a line they heavily promoted at SDCC 2012. We are now about 8 months out and no info. Occasionally we get a "soon" or "by years end" and then they fail to deliver on even that.
If you are going to fail to meet your own deadline at least communicate and offer tentative updates.
They previewed early to generate excitement on a line and mission accomplished.
It hasn't been 8 days, or 8 weeks. Its been 8 months.
We have not been asking for delivery. Just a tentative preorder date, price point and estimated edition size. All reasonable requests, and info that a company that has been in the game as long as GG has should be able to provide.

Sorry but your logic is flawed.
There is no "deadline" except the ones created by the fans. Everything beyond the initial reveal at the 2012 SDCC has been pure speculation. The GG reps have tried to answer your questions as best as they can given the information they have or can reveal at the time. To penalize them for not being more accurate with what amounts to little more than a guess on their part is asinine. There is no obligation on their part to provide any updates, they do it as a courtesy.
And just to be clear... reasonable requests for updates, questions and general enthusiasm are fine. Its the manner in which certain members here are conducting themselves when they don't get the answers they're looking for that I'm taking issue with. Nothing more.

I disagree that they have no obligation to their customers.

Not once did I say that. I said they have no obligation to provide updates. From a business perspective its in their best interest if they do but its ultimately up to them. Many companies simply reveal a product, put it up for pre-order and then deliver it.
GG has taken an active role on this forum to keep us better informed. They shouldn't be held to a higher standard because of that. If anything you should find some solace in knowing that when they can reveal more details they will inform us directly in addition to posting it on their own website.

Which is exactly why I suggested closing this thread. The first three pages were informative, everything else since, not so much.

There is no need to lock the thread. After all, we are not children, correct? People just need to consign themselves that this line will not be announced anytime soon. The faster they do that, the better they'll be in avoiding disappointment. On that note, let's talk about the presumed comic/animation adaptation.

If we use that as a criteria for locking threads, almost all the threads would be locked.

There must be some crazy stuff I missed in the ask GG thread. Maybe I'll go for a read...
Locking the thread is too much but until GG does something, nothing is really going here. I believe I said it before but at this point I don't think we'll see anything till SDCC. Unless someone knows another big convention that GG is going to before SDCC. With the year break whatever comic/cartoon they have should be ready to go. Or at least previewed on video / given away as a small teaser comic at SDCC. Followed up by statue pre-orders a week or so afterwards. Anything else and this thread will really be on fire.
