Question on prep painting model kits

Ok so I have molded and casted a sculpt sanded it filled in the pinholes repaired air bubbles and so now I spay it with primer krylon primer, but im expecting to stick to my cast instead I run my nail through the finished surface softly I might add and it easily comes off am I missing a step here?? Please info world be greatly appreciated. How do I get the primer to stick I thought it did it on its own.

It should adhere to the resin.

How well did you shake your spray can?

Shake it for at least 30 seconds

You can also dip it in some warm water.
Not hot, just warm. It will make the spraying smoother

Be sure to thoroughly wash the piece with warm soapy water before trying to prime it.
