That's the industry cost more or less.
There's tons of programming to each part involved, adding 3D supports for each piece, that right there is an art into itself all by its lonesome.
Lots of post production work, like sanding, removing supports ( for machines that use supports)cost of resin is high, cost of supports, cost of engineering a model, you just can't pop a file into the printer, you have to cut the model, create offsets, male female pegs, make the model "water tight" no holes basically, fix errors in geometry, and once printed you gotta remove off printer platform ( that can be tough at times), do an ultra sonic cleanse of each part, bake it in a UV oven, fill in, putty,many times resculpt minor areas, sand, glue....
Obviously if you own your machine it is a lot cheaper but that doesn't mean you won't invest money paying others for doing all the aforementioned things or just do them yourself.
Yeah it's not like printing paper
