I'll be pretty surprised if its that cheap. I'm thinking at least $50 more, maybe $100. Hope I'm wrong though.

If it's anything more than 400$ I'll pass on it, and even then, must be awesome to me. Otherwise I'll stick with the McQuarrie 1/5 piece, hopefully that one is cheaper.
I paid 500$ for the Fury of the Beast, no way I'm going to pay the same or more for some static PF, don't care if it's an A-list license and character.

I can assure you... there is absolutely no way this piece is $400 or less. Not when you consider it's likely as tall as the new Boba Fett PF (priced at $450) and will probably have a light-up feature through the base, belt and saber.

Not to play devil's advocate here, but both Igo and Alex confirmed at the time that height and light up have no impact on the final cost.
It was addressed when people said that tall bases were used for price hikes and when the light up was taken away from Sinestro without reducing the price.
As far as I understood, "complexity" is the driving factor, plus some price hike for A list characters that will sell regardless of the price point. And the same old theme "everything increases in price nowadays etc etc".
But you're right, forgot that Boba is already in the 450 mark. Likely I'll stick with the McQuarrie line then

Vader is tall and going by the artwork, the base is tall, too, so this will be a big statue. But even though we haven't seen the sculpt yet the complexity of Vader's design and base isn't quite Fett ($440) level of intricacy. And this PF won't have as much detail as Lobo ($580) for example. Pinhead ($450) probably has more intricacies than Vader will have. Can't see paying more than that.

I am going to have a hard time justifying paying these prices if there is a substantial amount of PVC used in the piece.

This seems to be Sideshow's trend lately.

And by 'trend' you mean all of 2 statues, right?
