I've seen a lot of people dissatisfied with first 4 figures for the same kind of terrible qc issues. Why are companies hiring people that obviously are poorly skilled and/or apathetic to the products they are shipping out?

Honestly I don’t think Prime has been at their best for at least 2 years now. It’s just that their original reputation is still holding strong with a lot of people.
But that’s not to say their pieces aren’t great, because they are. It’s just that they’re not perfect anymore... if they ever were. I still have early Arkham pieces, and even they as impressive as they may be, also have their own minor problems.
But as far as I’m concerned there is no perfect statue. I have 80+ statues (1/4 and larger) and replicas in my collection and not a single one is what I would call prestine, but maybe a few come close. I would say at least half my collection if not more has some kind of QC issue, many which I know there are ‘collectors’ who would’ve definitely sent them back to the retailer etc.
However when it comes to movie based pieces collectors and many others are far less forgiving when there is a slight drop in the paint app quality, then they are with most comic book based items.
