Shang-Chi - 6/10

I've never read the comics so I really can't compare the two... But it was an ok movie, I did find the comedian sidekick extremely annoying... It felt like they wrote her part in as an after thought, there really was no reason to have her in the movie... She was the Jar Jar Binks of the movie...

Shang-Chi 8/10

I don't think I ever tossed in my review when this first came out, but it's the same now as then And FTR, I have never read any comics, I went in blind.

I rewatched this on Disney+ last night. I really like this movie. I think it's the most beautiful MCU movie virtually (Dr. Strange is the coolest MCU movie visually). The story is smooth and an great way to blend an origin story with a functioning-hero-who-knows-his-strengths-story. The casting was great, the CGI amazing, and the fight scenes were well done.

Also - I enjoyed the way Disney/Marvel mocked themselves and the HORRENDOUS Iron Man 3 Mandarin.

Shang-Chi 9/10 as a standalone movie. Beautiful scenery and great special effects and cinematography.

5/10 as a Marvel Cinematic Universe tie in movie. I feel they changed the characters too much from the comics and other than a couple scenes it felt disjointed from the other Marvel movies. There was a lot of Shang-Chi and Mandarin comic lore they just washed away that I was hoping to see.

That being said I look forward to seeing how they integrate him into the MCU.

I enjoyed the hell out of Trevor's scenes though. He ate up the scenery several times.

Dune - 9/10 - Looked and sounded great. The last 1/3 dragged a bit for me though.

Red Notice - 6/10 - Nothing special. I don't think any of the 3 leads played great characters.

Finch - 7/10 - My brother told me I'd like it more if I was a dog person

Shang Chi - 7/10 Enjoyable. You really need to embrace the fantasy/magic part for the finale.

Shoot 'Em Up (2007) - A man named Mr. Smith delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen.

If you like over-the-top, cartoon gun violence then this movie is for you. 6/10

Watched Shang Chi the other night. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. I really liked the father and his history and motivation. Not so keen on the semi-comic relief sidekick. I would say this was close to a 7/10 - maybe a 6.8/10.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) - A bounty hunting scam joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery.

It's not my favorite western, but definitely a classic. 8/10

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End 9/10

One of my favorite movies.
The film has everything that belongs to a great pirate film. Even a romantic wedding on the sea

I adore the whole story of Davy Jones and Calypso. I get all the feels in the scene where he visits her in the brig.
