Sad thing is it’s probably gonna be the only Storm Sideshow ever produces. It’s not like Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, or Wolverine where we can just wait for the next variation.
Lazy effort = lower sales. And then they’ll think fans don’t support the lower tier characters and do less of them.

It's the main reason I haven't PO'd her yet, despite being my favorite character. If they fix it in production, I will order. If it stays as is, I will most likely skip her. Fun fact, she STILL doesn't have an ES set yet.
As for Nightcrawler, I definitely want him. I've seen the silhouette of the XM, and it looks like a busy mess like their Psylocke piece. Plus, will easily be at least $1,200 with shipping, if not more.

It's amazing how we were all caught off guard by the sudden release and were praising sideshow, only to quickly sour once the full reveal is shown. I get the legit complaint of wanting a second portrait, but it's not a deal breaker, won't stop me from getting it as is, for me it's perfect.
After market will def pick up the undone portrait we will probably see 2-3 custom portraits done. Maybe it will be exactly what you wanted or not?
Were lucky to have the choice, coming up will see the XM tentacle porn version, maybe that will have the second and third portrait you want at $1300-$1400 shipped. But sideshows lazy and XM is just money hungry right?
I bet most will buy SS nightcrawler as opposed to the XM version after there initial outrage ends for not having the second portrait. But I won't be shocked if both versions disappoint fans wanting the classic curly hair looks.

Personally, I guess I'm not super bothered by the lack of the extra portrait. One, Storm got literally nothing, so the fact that he at least has switch out arms made me happy. Plus, I think the portrait shown is really, really good.
My only real grip with this piece are the seam lines on the pink bampf energy. I wish they would have cast that as one piece (if possible) to avoid the seam lines. But, it's not a dealbreaker.

I assume they couldn't make that one piece, but that's the thing that bugs me most too.
Generally as long as I have one great portrait, then I'm very happy. If there's two, all the better because it gives better odds at least one will be good. I would have loved a snarling one but it didn't happen, oh well. I'll be buying this regardless as soon as it's up and can't wait, I think this overall is a huge winner.

There are definitely XM pieces that I'm super wowed by but they are few and far between (Scorpion and Iceman are my favorites). I've never clicked with their art direction and Sideshow still has the best portraits imo.
I wouldn't pick up most XM pieces even if they were priced the same as SS. Sideshow wins for me nearly every time and I have a feeling that SS Nightcrawler will be better as well. Likely won't be buying though as I wanted a spiky hair portrait with teeth showing.

The only issue with this statue are the seams near the feet. But, honestly, it's fine. I absolutely love the portrait and having the swap out option for the swords is perfect. Can't wait to get him. Nightcrawler was the character that drew me to the X-Men and comic books.

This is my favorite of the sentinel hand bases. It looks like it?s reaching out to grab him.
