There's a great Bob Layton style IM out there. Just not the scale most people here would be thrilled by (it's the 1/6 Kotobukiya)

You’re right that is a really good one. I actually have the Bowen Classic IM which is another good example. I was talking about larger scale IM statues. I should have been more clear with my previous post.

Would've preferred the base to not be so unnecessarily big height wise

Yeah well I don't know why the owner Jay said this was a Bob Layton Classic Iron Man because this is nothing like a Bob Layton classic Iron man, obviously he doesn't know what he's talking about.

There are armored sections all over the arms and legs so it's not the skin tight classic, the boots look terrible, the hip pods arent right, the helmet looks wierd, his repulsors/hands are from the movie versions as is the Arc reactor in his chest something which the classic comic version never had, also the 70's Tony Stark portrait doesnt look like Tony.

This is basically just a rip off of the Sideshow 1:5 scale classic/modern mash up version, I don't know why I got so excited about this peice, man what a let down.

As a DIE HARD Bob Layton fan, I can totally see why the owner mentioned Bob Layton completely.

That longer haired classic portrait is so much in the spirit of that classic Layton look from that time, as well as lots of familiarity/nods that style in the armour too.

I think the audience is a lot bigger than just us Layton fans, and I can totally see why the armour has had to have a slight reinvention to modernise, and keep those fans less familiar with the classic armour happy too.

I think it looks incredible, and can imagine once painted, it will look absolutley stunning.

This classic Layton Iron Man fan is more than happy!!!
