For sure.
I looked at those Asmus figures, some are "ok" - nothing I'd get excited about.
I'm gushing over the rooted hair versions of InArts figures, but what do you guys think about the "budget" option? Sculpted hair.
I'm wondering if those figures make any sense. I mean, at this point, unless it's a figure of Max Headroom, going sculpted hair is gong to drag a headsculpt away from being "hyper real"....so I'm wondering if those fully sculpted heads are really effective as a half way house....thoughts?

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Yes, you are correct.
Even though they are making 2nd and 3rd tier characters, which another company will never make, their likeness and accuracies are bad.
Most of their products has flaws that needs to be tweaked when we receive it. Overall just bad experience for me.

I think for the characters that has long hair, the rooted hair really helps. I PO-ed Joker, Gandalf and Aragorn with rooted hair due to that very reason.. needs flowing long hair.
As for Batman, I POed the sculpted hair, because there is no long flowing hair on him, and the sculpted version can replicate his hairstyle good enough.

so....does this mean you're making the switch to 1/6 scale figures?.....if yes, then let me just say, I'm excited for you. I'm so close to pressing the "button"......I'm talking about that proverbial "nuclear option" - cancel pre orders, keep or sell some statues.....make room for a new beginning.

Worse.
I'm already collecting 1/6 figures. Also still collecting statues, as well as creating them (I work as a concept artist for XM, my latest piece was their Zatanna).
And.. still buying 1/12 scale as well, especially Marvel Legends X-Men and NECA TMNT.
Those giant ass Godzilla from Kaiyodo and X-Plus are not helping either.
So yeah, basically I collect what I like, and I should stop doing that. Thinking to stop collecting. XD

This is exactly what I am talking about - small changes, huge improvement. Kudos to InArt for listening and making the changes.
Initial figure and statue reveals online should always be treated as conceptual only. They should be open to review and critique by potential customers.
Manufacturers should keep an open and honest dialogue with the collecting community. They should take notes and make improvements accordingly in order to perfect their offerings prior to final production.
The only company I know of which is doing exactly that is Jazz Inc. Their customers are quite happy throughout the whole process, not to mention the final products. It's a win-win situation.
All other manufacturers, especially the high-end expensive ones, should follow the same path, IMO.

Are you by any chance Ario Anindito? I know Paul Tan did the sculpt for that piece.

Not a fan of their figures. Never have been. They are not terrible by any means, just not very exciting.

That sounds a little drastic. Can't you keep all your existing collections and just add a couple of 1:6 figures occasionally?

I remember seeing a custom 1:6 scale headsculpt of the Joker with rooted hair years ago, long before it'd become mainstream. I was very impressed by it.
It is a very good thing now that a substantial manufacturer like InArt / QS has adopted rooted hair to their figures and does so in a quality comparable to custom figures. I really do appreciate it.
However, not all rooted hair figures are made the same way. I was/am never a fan of rooted hair on HT figures. They'd done a few on their female figures and the result was unsatisfactorily.
I prefer sculpted hair for short hair. It looks tidier that way.
