Well, they all sell ~ 3x or at least 2x their retail price. Being rather new pieces.

So they are already "grails", hard to obtain pieces. After the market stabilizes, they could easily go ~4x their original retail price.

What about that Prime1 Jungle Predator 1/3? Oops, i last saw it selling for -20% under retail....Ohhhh and wait till Prime1 produces the whole run (~40-50% are in collectors hands). After the whole ES is out, you can get that Predator 1/3 deluxe for 1.5k and one bl.... as a gift!!

Look, pal. Predator WAS a good movie for THAT era. Younger generations dont give a f..k for it now. It looks outdated and old. Predator is a dying license.

It is like guys worshipping MJ cause MJ was their hero when they were young. They dont want to hear anything else and they constantly search for clues "confirming" their solid as rock opinion that MJ is the GOAT when in reality he was simply a volume shooter, not willing to pass even to his mother. A bad teammate and a selfish guy. But i bet that you are also a MJ fan.

So that's your definition of a grail? A piece that goes 2 or 3 times the retail price? I'd lean more towards an outstanding concept, likeness and execution but what do I know.

As far as Prime 1 goes, you have to look no further than their Berserk line. Most of the older pieces (Isidro, Schierke, Conrad, Void, SK on a horse to name a few, maybe also Zodd and reg. SK etc.) easily go for 2-4 or more x retail. EASILY. I guess that Forps seriously lacks in market knowledge...

Some Sideshow statues can sell for 3 times their original retail price because they are cheaper and smaller to begin with.

Sideshow is boring in comparison to prime 1 because they don't innovate. Let me know when SS makes something like the godzilla vs Kong diorama.

This is a general thing happening with Berserk especially after the recent passing. Not due to the "quality" of Prime1's sculpts looking glossy asf and giving the impression of non-refined, non-finessed sculpts, of "brute" sculpts. Berserk (for obvious reasons, huge following, recent passing, limited high-end statues on the market) or even Dragonball Z are special cases.

Or even videogames statues where Prime1 should focus along with anime/manga. Prime1 should focus on anime/manga/videogames and leave us, western comic-sculpts collectors alone with Sideshow.

I would be extremely happy if this happens! It is already happening though, lol!!! Thank, God!

I can't stand Prime1's lifeless sculpts, glossy paint jobs, lacking finesse, lacking artistic value sculpts. Thank, God, she is focusing on anime/manga/videogames! YES!!!

There are not many renditions of videogames/anime characters in eg 1/3 scale (if there are any) and they are licenses with huge following.

Im not talking about anime/manga/videogames. Guys buying that stuff are obviously clueless about art, sculpting lines, shading and they also have limited choices in eg 1/3 scale.

So why the WHOLE 1/3 video game Arkham line by Prime1 is selling for 400/500 bucks? Starting @ 900+? Prime1 sells them for -70% for God's sake! They all look like giant action figures, THIS is why.

Going for OVER retail means that the market appreciates the sculpt and thinks it is a grail.

A 1/4 going for 1.5 or close to 2k in the aftermarket nowadays (where you can see Hush Batmans 1/3 selling for 1k !!!!) is UNBELIEVABLE. The aftermarket is virtually dead and these recent Sideshow pieces sell for an unbelievable premium.

It is ridiculous! After the market stabilizes, these pieces are going for over 2k in the aftermarket.

It shows how magnificent these sculpts are.

Harbottle GOATed with Dejah Thoris. Show me ONE sculpt by Prime1 getting close to this.

Kucharek Bros GOATed with Rebel Terminator. Show me again ONE sculpt by Prime1 getting close to this.

The sculpt, the lines, the artistry, everything is perfect.

As for Kong vs Godzilla diorama, nope. I did not buy it. The colors are muted and it looks like it was again painted by a guy getting a bucket of grey paint and throwing it all over the sculpt. It looks MONOCHROMATIC but the worse thing is that it looks like a....toy.

There, i said it. The whole diorama being virtually monochromatic and looking plasticky, gives the impression someone bought it from a toy store for his son.

Sorry, Zombiez. I know that you are a Prime1 junkie (you only write in her threads) but this is what i feel when seeing that diorama. I HATE IT

You know I like you Forps, but c'mon man! "Just a volume shooter" His career FG% is 49.7%, averaging 30.1 pts...MJ was also a 9-time NBA All-Defensive first team selection. As for selfish, you could make that argument early in his career, but by the time he was winning championships (6 of them!), I'd say he was pretty good at getting his teammates involved
