I'm going to recommend something extremely obvious that I would think everyone here has already read, but I'll post it anyway: Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier. I just finished reading the Absolute Edition which was an amazing experience. 10/10

I do have that absolute edition, and I need to reread it because it’s been quite a few years since I didn’t read it
That is actually a book that DC should always have in print in whatever format whether it’s a Deluxe Edition paper back or absolute format

The New Frontier Absolute Edition is pure gold! And, for those who don’t want to go for the Absolute price point, pick this story up as a TPB. This is among the finest stories ever created in the modern age of comics.

It seems i am done with Batman Comics. I am way behind anyway because i don't want to read that crap anymore. If anyone out there who saw the Burton, Nolan, Reeves films who thinks to get into Batman Comics, just don't. It is nothing like those films. The Comic Book Creative teams just pull some crazy ass stuff in the comics like sending Batman into space and stuff and on that there are 10 or something increadibly stupid kid sidekicks runing around all the time. lol It is just unbearable. Just go read Daredevil. Everything you look forward to read about Batman is in Daredevil Comics. I am probably forever done with Batman Comics.

DK, I don't know if you have tried One Dark Knight yet but if you haven't it wouldn't hurt. Not bad. Not one for the ages or anything but good enough. Yeah, good Batman material is not going to be found in the regular comics run for a while. We have to rely on Black Label stuff now and even those are not always good. Not until there is a massive change in writers.

Thought this was worth a major-mention! It just hit & I'm sure it will sell out quickly. For you Horror-Hounds out there, I wanted to bring to your attention that Fantagraphics Publishing has just released a collection, in hardback, of the 1970's, B&W, magazine format, Web Of Horror! This book only ran 3 issues but this collection also collects the never before released, unpublished 4th issue. Bernie Wrightson's earliest work, along w/ M. Kaluta, Bruce Jones, Tom Sutton, Frank Brunner & more ... along w/ writers you'll totally recognize. I've seen individual copied of the 3 issues at cons for years, but could never afford them. I've read a few stories from the st issue & it stands head-to-head w/ any Warren, Curtis or Skywald mag. of the 70's. If you're a 70's horror comic fan, grab this why you still can!
