You know how they are, a big majorty of American Comic book readers hate Manga and a big majority of Manga readers don't show any interest to American Comics. Well, it is really hard to get into super hero comics, to figure out where to start, that doesn't help as well. I grew up with both Super Hero films and shows and Anime, so i am both into American Comics and Manga.

Super Hero Comics also really lacks quality, i am disappointed with what i read most of the time. On the other hand majority of manga is good quality. Among all the mangas that i read, i only got disappointed with one.

Pretty sure Manga outsells comics by a pretty good margin now. Of course if you ask some of the gatekeepers of modern comics about this they will scoff.

Kind of think of myself as a gatekeeper of traditional comics but think most of what’s produced now sucks. So, I suppose I’m not a gatekeeper of “modern” comics.

Sigh.

Same. I?m going through all my Omnibuses and Masterworks lately. I?ve completed FF, Spider-Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, Sub-Mariner, Daredevil and I?m up to volume 9 of Iron Man Marvel Masterworks. Once I?m done with Shell Head I?ll either start on Dr. Strange, Defenders or Incredible Hulk next.

I have tried to get into manga and anime and I just did not like it. I definitely can see the appeal but it just was not for me.

Not a fan of it, either.

I was like that at first too, until I found an anime I absolutely loved.

I am trying to think of a manga, i can recommend.

I think anyone who is into history and Vikings would enjoy Vinland Saga. It also has an anime adaptation.
