I think it is a matter of personal preference. Like I said there were plenty of people complaining about the dark eyes on the Snow Giants and I imagine there will be those complaining in the opposite direction here, but I know in both cases it was approved by Frank F so I was just soliciting opinions, not offering a complaint. If you look closely at the Bowen FS Death Dealer it is almost a combo platter. Under his main helmet is what looks like a kerchief in the center and sort of robo-slats on the sides, all of which is basically black.

Just as an observation from a non-artist I think in some ways Frazetta's paintings must be difficult to sculpt and paint. I love his art as much as anyone, but his style is completely unique. For purposes of comparison, however, I will make a leap and say it is more like Rembrandt than Michelangelo in that his edges are often rough and ill defined. Shading and strange colors are a big part of his work. I was speaking with Micheal at Reel Art RE the Dark Kingdom and he told me that Frank specifically wanted a "loose" sculpt for the Dark Kingdom and the paint scheme they approved was to reflect that. I e-mailed Steve Lord when I got mine and I hope I was clear then, if not I will be now, I thought the sculpt was awsome but I didn't like the paint job, especially since I had seen Alex's which was much superior IMO.

In summary, I think your sculpts are great and obviously so does Frank Sr., as he has stated as much on his website, and that is more than good enough for me.

Hey Alex

If this is an unpainted kit, are you thinking about offering a painting service for those who buy the kit?...

No I’m not interested in reproductions I only do one of a kind figures, I would like to pass on my skills and concepts and teach the techniques that I have spent a live time on to others, to make sure they are not lost and to establish the art of panting statutes and miniature figures as a legitimate art form!
