When I'm selling things I don't care if the buyer doesn't want insurance or not. I simply refuse to ship without it for exactly the reasons you've listed. In the end I will end up responsible for any damage despite whether its my fault or not. Insurance protects both the buyer and the seller. It makes no sense to ship without it.

Great thread! I sold a statue to Hype Williams recently and dealt strictly with his assistant Kelly. He was very secretive about it all and I had to play the phone game with Kelly the whole time while I was meeting up with him to deliver the package. He picked it up in person so it was confirmed that it was him. Maybe Not Tony is famous?

Big problem with the packaging dispute is that it wasn't brought up immediately imo. Pics of the package before it was opened, pics as you open it, pics as you unwrap would have helped his case of poor packaging. Who's to know you're not trying to scam?

And I don't paint or sculpt my own statues... does that make me a lesser collector?

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Six months later and "not Tony" has never posted since his last post in here, yet I still see him on the forum every single day
