Why would you even WANT the theatrical release for ANY reason when you have the extended versions???

I'm a big fan of behind the scenes movie making, and I have watched all the extras from the box sets; however I'm not about to pay $90 just for behind the scenes documentaries and audio tracks.

Who thinks Pete Jackson took a hit on the King Kong film? I have both the cinema and extended DVD'S, i'll not be buying these. HD is good but i'll wait and see the difference before buying those.

My next LOTR purchase will be HD-DVD.
Even further reason then to put the studio and Peter Jacksons mothers on the stroll to make me some money to buy a HD DVD player.

I have all three of the Gift sets, and will not be getting these.

Are there extra features on the theatrical discs that are not on the EE discs?
