This crap is getting sickening already. I really feel like not buying any dvd's. What I'm I supposed to do now sell my F'n set. I would love to have both versions on one disk but I'm not going to buy another set or sell my set at a loss to buy this one. Screw Peter Jackson, the studio and all their moms.

Certainly. With the advent of HD-DVD and Blu-ray, this will not get much interest from those looking to step up.

No you don't.
Putting both versions on the same disc (including extras) would serious degrade the video quality. I believe the new discs also drop the superior DTS track found on the Ext. Editions.
The Ext. Editions will still be vastly superior to these discs.
My next LOTR purchase will be HD-DVD.

**** that, I'm waiting for the HD or Blu-Ray, whichever ends up becoming the standard. Looks like there's nothing new in these anyway.

The only new stuff that will be included in these sets is more audio commentary and video diary footage ... if you alraedy have the extended editions, there's no reason to buy these unless your a real fan of the background stuff involved in making the films.
