Oh, there is another Silver Surfer in comics who is a girl called Shalla Bal. I didn't know that. I thought they just change the gender of Norrin Radd, Silver Surfer. Since i learned this, i am cool with it now.

No this is not okay. Throughout the Surfer's history Shalla-Bal has been his love interest.

Even if they have Radd appear at the end I wish nothing but doom and derision on this movie.

I must agree.

Yes, it's an adaptation, and they've done three already, but not one yet that was 'good'. I don't mind minor character 'swaps', but major characters are major (and popular) for a reason. People like them as they were created.

I don't even like the Fantastic Four, but I have some small interest in the Silver Surfer, and this kind of unnecessary change is off-putting.

But the thing that really pisses me off is that no more than a couple hours before I read this news, I read an article in which Bob Iger claims "Disney's job is not to advance any kind of agenda.".
