John Glaser Dies a Hero

A fire broke out in the neighborhood of one of my 14 year old son's best friends. One of the firemen rushed in to the burning house to save people they thought were in there and was killed in the fire. In addition to leaving his wife and two small children behind and being the first fireman in Shawnee, KS to die in the line of duty, it turns out their info was wrong and the house was empty. How sadly ironic and painful.

My wife had to stop for the procession of 120 emergency vehicles that made their way to his burial ceremony. She described the procession, depicted in the photos in this story, as awe inspiring.

RIP to such a good man who gave his life in the attempt to protect others.

Always sucks to lose one of the good guys. Rest in peace, Mr. Glaser, you've surely earned it.
I'll be hanging with my brother who is on the Fire Dept. here this weekend and we'll be sure to raise a glass for him.

RIP Fierfighter Glaser

The world is a little less bright without one of its heroes!

And heroes these days are not easily made!

Prayers for him, his family and loved ones!
