Attaching a sculpt to a new base

Im after some advice. Im in the process of building a 1/5 scale figure. Just a simple standing pose with two feet on the base.

My question is - how do you guys secure the sculpt to a new base?
Do you drill holes underneath the feet and screw it in?
Do you leave some armature wire leftover at the feet - and then screw that into the base?
Do you just glue it onto the base?

Im concious that the piece will be heavy, so I want to give it proper base support when its completed.

Pretty sure it just depends on the sculptor. I usually use square brass tubing.

Usually you can just drill in the feet and on the base. Use some type of metal tubing or fittings, and glue into the bottom of the feet and then connect to the base.

Depending on the stance, I think you'd have better support if you left a little of the armature out of the bottom of the feet so you have that strength running through the whole piece and into the base. I know some pros will leave the excess armature to be incorporated into the base itself.
