eFX Stormtrooper Helmet.
What's the difference between the AN stormtrooper helmet this is out now from eFX and the legend edition coming out in in fall? Also does anyone know a rough estimate of price of the new one?

the legend edition is made from a mold taken from and actual helmet that was used in the film. its the hero helmet that was worn by the stormtrooper on the left that escorts princess leia to darth vader on the tantive IV in the hallway. if you go to their site and read the description they tell you all about it..and with photos..

WELL..i dont know..i know it wont be as much as the ANH Legend or Limited Vader helmet that's for sure.. i would think it would be significantly lower due to the materials it will be made out of. so if i had to guess ild say 500 possibly 600 at the very most. but again im not sure..will have to wait and see..im hoping they make a Legend stunt..would be cool to have both versions on either side of my Legend Vader.

If someone wants a Stunt helmet simply go for some o the fan made which are very accurate being pulled from screen used molds and helmets: RS Prop Masters, CfO, TE/TE2 etc. They are and will be more accurate than any licensed one. I'm quite afraid the eFX Hero will be too much cleaned up, and also there was the word of making it of fiberglass where the whole Legend idea goes away.

well if i were to get a lid from an original mold it would be an SDS..yes i know there are fan made ones out there..but i like the idea of the helmet coming from the actual molds that were used for the film. this efx hero will be just as accurate as the fan made ones your talking about..for its will be made in the same process and materials. eFx isn't going to be making these hero legends out of fiberglass..it clearly states in there description on there site how they will be made...here is a couple of sentences out of the description on there site.....
"a Legend must be either cast or utilize the original molds. NO 3D SCANNING or 3D MODELING.
"Our Legend Stormtrooper helmet will not only replicate the original helmet in process, but all materials, as well."
so the helmet should be very accurate. its going to be an exact duplicate of the one that was used in the film in the escorting of princess Leia on the tantive lV. and its licensed..
now all they have to do is do the same with a stunt.

You guys really need to visit more forums, eFX comes a lot on Rebelscum for example. Read from this post on and you might have a revelation, and not necessarily a good one: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1070056-5/#post18776592 As for something being licensed I simply don't care. I look at the RS Prop Masters or CfO Stormtrooper helmets made from screen used helmets, not just from molds, and they are PERFECT. I also own SDS and I like them. None are licensed but still will be better than the licensed version, since the guys making them keep all the warps and dings intact, making them really accurate and not idealized.
Unfortunately until now the licensed props were not always what they were really advertised - I'm curious to see what Sith Lord will say about Legend Vader - he is a real Vader specialist and he has a Vader helmet made from the same molds as Legend Vader but from years ago when the molds were in better shape. Also I compared the MR Stormtrooper blaster with my real Sterling and the difference is huge, until you get them to compare face to face you cannot understand. MR Stormtrooper blaster is nice, but the deactivated Sterling with accurate t-tracks, genuine M-40/M-38 tank scope, real Eagle Hengstler industrial counter and cylinders with new found TCC capacitors is 100 times better.

well if they make it out of fiberglass then it wont classify as a legend. i have to agree with you on that. guess we will just have to wait and see what efx has to say about that. if that is the case then im sure they will post it on their web site.
there is no argument that the fan made helmets are movie accurate. like take the sds for instance..now that comes directly from the molds..and its a shame its not licensed. but some people like to collect only licensed products. i really think Lucas dropped the ball on that whole SDS deal. should have worked with Andrew.
also keep in mind. that there were 3 Vader helmets used for filming ANH. and i have been on the prop den forum and seen all the talk and comparison of the efx and sith lord's helmet you are referring to, and others. but when comparing the two there are some differences..but it is a known fact that there were three helmets used for the film and each one had certain aspects that were different form one another. you can clearly see it in the film when comparing them to the helmets (efx sith lords). so im sure some things happened to each helmet during the casting process. such as the flaring of the dome. that's really the only one debate that is going on at the prop den forum about the two helmets. but they both come from the same mold. that's a fact. but just that sith lord's was a cast off of one of the three helmets that was used for the film. so they both have direct linage to the film..but each took a different path at different times.
