That article needs to be updated, as the timings on the live stream website is given as 4 pm GMT. Thus it's actually 9 am Pacific.

And can't believe they are choosing to open it 2 days early, might as well opened it years ago then.

I doubt its more than 6 months old, I'm sure in the middle of filming the latest "found footage" movie someone came up with this plan

This reminds me of the old "The Crate" story from the original Creepshow.

It's obviously something that will be more valued as only part of Norwegian history. But the mere idea of such time capsule existing is itself awesome, irrespective of its contents. Life imitating art aka Back to the Future Part II

It was quite a tease as there are so many documents that are not going to be read out anytime soon. Flags, letter from US. Also newspapers from 1914 and 1919? He was a time traveler .

That packaging doesn't look REMOTELY weathered enough to be 100 years old; I only looked at the initial link, not the clips that followed, but.. assuming it was buried or even socked away in some guy's cedar trunk, that parchment wrapping should be a little more weathered.

.. ah.. museum case, still.. it wasn't in there until at least the 50's, probably.

.. although being an Optimist, I'm willing to suspend disbelief out of enthusiasm for the event.
