painting over chrome?

so im in the process of customizing a colossus pf, one of things I wanted to do was have a chrome finish. I talked to gary at creations and chrome, he said they would have to chrome the entire piece.

so that would mean I would have to sculpt the outfit and paint on top of the chrome finish. do you think if I sanded it enough and primed / sanded before painting it wouldn't be a problem???

CNC uses a special chrome process and they told me while back some paints will react to it and cause issues. So best to ask them what paints will work over their basic chrome paint up.

yeah ill double check with him before I decide what to do on that. this is really causing me to rethink my game plan but I want to figure out a way to make it work. ive got this idea stuck in my head so now im going to be bummed if it doesn't work out, ill never be 100% happy with it
