Are there any strategic ways of bidding on ebay?
Lately I've felt I've been paying too much for statues on ebay. I mean not that I wasnt willing to spend it but it seems every auction I bid on it always goes to my max bid or more. I do research on the statue and see how much it should be going for but it seems theres always someone to get into a bidding war with me. Do you guys have any strategic advice on bidding, if there even is some or is it just dumb luck.

it is simple ... wait until the end of the auction to bid - that way you can't get bid up... and if it is too high - keep looking as another will likely come along

Just remember that with a very few exceptions, everything will come back around. If you miss it once, be patient and wait...you'll get another chance soon

Always bid with seconds to spare, unless you've bid a max price you can really live with without feeling that you've paid to much. Then just place the bid whenever and hope for the best.
I snipe, always have and always will.

I believe whole heartedly in "sniping", but I think Sniper programs are BS! I think they should be outlawed. If you want to win an auction, you should have to do the dirty work! Grrrrrrr!
