I don't really "collect" them hardcore.

I have all the Tenjho Tenge statues (all 4 of them) from Epoch as well as the complete Dead or Alive 2 line which is hard as hell to get.

There's a few reasons I can't really get into them.

1. They're moving more and more in vinyl which I don't like for my collection. Much prefer resin, polystone, porcelain, etc.

2. Most of them have to be imported and most are limited runs of 300 or less that sell out in Japan before we even get a whiff of them here. If you want to collect the authentic thing, you're starting behind the 8 ball from day one.

3. Waaaaay too many recasts and rip offs out there. And the originals don't exactly have the best documentation to help out. Most of these epoch statues come in a colored box and that's it.

4. SUPER fragile. I bought Mai Shiranui THREE f**** times and EVERY TIME, she came with a crack or a chip in a different part. One collector said some were so delicate that just elevation changes from the plane is enough to cause a hairline crack. I'm not sure if I buy THAT but I can certainly see it.

5. There's about 803,899,732 of them out there. I mean it really is endless. I don't think there's enough money or room in the whole world for all these anime characters. So the sheer size is just daunting and as I am a completist by nature, I just don't start.

I have the 4 in the Tenjho Tenge line and that appears dead. And I have 5 in the Dead or Alive 2 series and that's complete.

As an example, in Ikki Tousen I've seen about 20 different statues and variants alone on Ebay and they put out a new one every 2 or 3 months it seems. Half of them are limited 300 edition runs in Japan. Half on ebay are recasts. Too tough and time consuming to keep up versus say Clayburn Moore's pieces which are numbered, certificate of authenticy included, much harder to recast, and come out on a more reasonable release schedule to allow our wallets to rest.

I love them though but those are the issues that personally keep me away.

I have a few Berserk and Cowboy Bebop statues. I also have some Studio Ghibli and Evangelion mini figures. I will try to post some pics.

I collected them, but have now paced myself in favor of bigger statues ala Sideshow etc.

Here are just a [very] few of mine...

Most of these came from my dealer in Japan, he's been a great help finding me stuff that's never seen before in America.
At any rate, here's ome of mine, not the greatest but there you go.

There're much more on the other side where the red arrow is pointing at, also some burry under those stacks.
Will picture them once I get ahold of the camera again.

Excellent collection guys!!! , I love anime but it's truth that is very difficult to follow a trend when there are so many options and endless runs to complete.
