After going back and forth in my head, I finally put one on order yesterday.
It's supposed to ship at the beginning of May, so I will be sure to post pics when it arrives.

...I seem to remember a very, very early prototype photo (maybe 2005 Comic Con?) that featured him wearing a crown. Does anyone else remember this?

Nope, because that would be horrifically movie inaccurate. More than likely you glanced the SSW Elessar statue in conjunction with the Cinemaquette.

Yeah, I see how people like the crown but he wasn't wearing it at the black gates. It's more important to me that he be accurate.
The costume and sword all look amazing and I'm going to reserve judgement on the face and hair until I see it in person. They've really made a lot of progress so far so I'm expecting to be happy.
