Dang Zurb, I couldn't have said it any better. I can tell you first hand that the PS3 is a much better player than the new Sony BDP S300 player. The PS3 excels in the sound department. I have the new Onkyo TX SR605 that can do all the latest standards (Dolby True HD, DTS HD MA, and everything else), and when I played Aeon Flux last night I was literally blown away by the beginning scene where the fly was buzzing around. I swear to God I wanted to slap the air because it literally sounded like it was flying around my head. The thing is, its the only movie I have tried so far and the disc is only encoded in Dolby Digital. I could just imagine how it sounds if it was encoded in a lossless audio format!
The picture quality is awesome and the sound is even more impressive. Too bad they don't have any PS3 games to play. It does play PS2 games so I am going to be using it for that. I never got a chance to play God of War 1 and 2, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami. But for now, it is strictly my Blu Ray player.
