Hot Wheels 1996 Batmobile: 1:24 or 1:18

When are these coming out? I've got the 1:43 version (thanks Rider!).

Anyone have any idea?

Didn't you ask this a while back?

A version of the 1:18 is going to be sold at the convention.

There's a couple SDCC 2007 1966 1:18 Scale Batmobiles up on eBay commanding some big change.

That's nuts, no?

I wouldn't pay more than $100.00 for a 1:18 of this quality.

Hang tight, the 1/18 for normal humans will be along eventually. I wont pay 300,

I think there is a deluxe version coming for less then 100 too, hoping for lights on that one.

Yeah, I ask all the time. I'm trying to keep my eyes open for the release. Ive been waiting a looooong time for this version of the Batmobile, and I remember the 1:18 was delayed for some reason.

Also, to keep the word out that Im hunting for this thing. Thanks to RiderV3, I got the little one.

Sit tight and wait just a little longer .
This comic-CON version is regarded as a joke amongst the serious Batmobile fanatics anyway.Only reason it came into being was that when they pulled four moulds in fibreglass from the original Batmobile in 1966-67 to cope with demand for shows and touring one of the bodies exhibited stress-cracks.Their novel approach to mask this was to cover the entire body in a velvet-like material which became known as "Bat-fuzz".
This model is the Batmobile as it was first scanned by Mattel with all the many imperfections and scars added by Barris over the years. It s basic and its totally wrong! The roll-cage is wrong, the beacons wrong, the door-bats are wrong.Only thing thats right about it in fact is the shape!
The Elite and Elite special Editions coming this Fall,on the other hand, are a whole different story. The trunk will open on these to reveal the Bat-Computer.The hood will open and contain a miniaturized atomic turbine engine. The Elite Special Edition is aiming to replicate the beauty of the first season Batmobile too,as it appeared in 1966! Two of the worlds foremost Batmobile experts are working with Mattel to make sure it is so .These will be the models to buy-and those poor impatient souls who just had to have it now will come to regret thier impatience .
You can buy two Elite SEs for the price of one Comic-con.I know which will be far the better investment and you should too.
