The dude that wrote that article is a known idiot and the Telegraph itself isn't much better.

A quick google search shows the lead scientist involved in the study that the Telegraph is talking about had this to say in response :

I disagree with the way the article was written and especially with the implications of its headline. Several of the apparent quotations from me are not ones that I recognise. I never spoke to a journalist from the Daily Telegraph so I wonder how this article was compiled. At very least it was second-hand reporting.
(in regards to the first Telegraph article, which was then re-written by the dude in the OP to voice his opinion)

There are some drawbacks with wind energy but for accurate info, I wouldn't read the Telegraph.
