"one life to live" and "all my children" canceled

I don't know anyoen that watches these but I am shocked. over 40 years running and they are being replaced with reality shows or talk shows.

Shes been watching it for like 20 yrs!

My Mother's birthday was yesterday. She has been watching these forever and was very upset by the news.

I read an interesting article that the decision to cancel these types of shows was primarily based on lack of advertising because advertisers feel that these shows are DVR'd and the commercials were fast forwarded. The industry responded with trying to write commericals into the scenes themselves so they were part of the storyline. For instance two main characters might have had a conversation about the benefits of drinking Sanka brand coffee in the morning, etc. Audiences and advertisers didn't go for it....but it's food for thought for the whole TV industry that is mainly advertisement revenue based. Are the DVR's going to kill television as we know it???

I do that for all shows. I rarely watch anything live.
