The clone saga was reversed? How so?
You're talking about that clone debacle from the early 90s?

All this event crap is the fault of Secret Wars, and to a lesser extent Contest of Champions. Those two events showed Marvel comics, and for that matter all the comics companies, the money milking potential that is the "Company Wide Crossover".

Interesting....I'd love to hear an expanded post as to why you pick March '88 and what events occured after that that you view as being entertaining,if not necessary.

Ths is interesting too....The Comic Code Authority pretty much lost all credibility when the US government itself asked Marvel to use Spider-Man in the war against drugs which led to the ASM drug story (#96–98 in '71) yet the CCA refused to endorse the story leading to Stan saying simply ignoring th CCA and publishing the story without the CCA stamp with no ramifications whatsoever. The CCA was all but irrelevant after that.

I think Secret Wars II did that. In my mind it was the first "Company Wide Crossover" that seemed forced and was not assigned top level talent.

SWII is where they got the formula down.

That's been the formula for crossovers up until recently, and even now it's still done on "lesser" crossovers.

The Death of Superman... It made it a "cool" media event to kill off major characters. Since then, which main characters haven't died (and come back)? It's ridiculous!
