This is Jim lee referenced magneto. So the costume is pulled from that classic new x-men arc (which all should know & love). The belt design is classic magneto and represents that style of that era.
For anyone who was a comic collector back in the day, they would have picked up the base is a representation of the destroyed satellite in that asteroid m arc. It’s just a artistic visualisation to represent it. We try & give something different on bases as I believe sentinel is done to death (and most likely people would complain “another sentinel base!....) if we went that route.
This piece is also looking at an option to have magnetic aura representing mags power. Just trying to bring something not done before.
In person I believe this piece has amazing presence & detail. There are multiple head swap outs & even hand and arm swap out. We understood it’s being judge based on limited visualisation but I’m sure you will be more than happy when you see the full customisation.
Great to hear feedback as always guys. Now onto paints!!

Thank you for the info. That sounds like a lot of great options.
I hope the magnetic aura comes to fruition...but why did you opt for something other than the aura/rocky base of the concept art? I think a simpler option works for larger scale statues, plus I don't think you can blame one for that expectation, considering your prior 1:3s, i.e. fairly subdued. This satellite especially, is sort of obnoxiously large, and distracting.
The magnetic aura option you mention - would that be an add-on for the statue shown? Or would it attach to create a new base, sans the satellite?
I suppose you're past the design stage to the point of no return, but if by chance you aren't, might I suggest that if you do include the aura, that it cuts off some (the top 1/3?) of the satellite, not unlike the Terminator time sphere:
Basically, nothing would be within the sphere except Magneto.
Thanks for listening. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the paint app!
