I wonder how Michigan would fare if Detroit were located in Alaska instead of Michigan?
I am shocked that Hawaii ranked #10. Their homelessness rate is very high. But they have state run health care, and you can always sleep on the beach I suppose!

Any statistical information can very easily be misleading.
In the case of unemployment rates when we remove those people who are no longer actively looking for work, those on social welfare for example, they no longer factor into the equation. So the rate goes down not because there are more jobs, but simply because some people have given up.

Illinois 11.3
Yeah that about covers it. And since our politicians are
the worst of the worst of the worst, you almost have to expect that. Along with our 13 billion dollar deficit and failing school systems, cronyism among leaders, over taxation and authoritarian political zealots... I project I'll be moving out of this God forsaken state within the next year or two.
