7 interlocking statue/dioramas of the X-Men in the Danger Room! All in, it costs USD$205.
Cool concept!

You know DST really does have some interesting ideas. They just need to work on their execution and quality a little more.

Yeah TX was good enough to post details on this awhile back. So DST took this up from Upper deck. I have no interest in this but maybe X-fans will.

Wasn't it Diamond Select that produced the Jim Lee X-Men statues that were supposed to form a massive Danger Room scene when the line was complete? Then went out and cancelled the line before it was complete because the statues supposedly weren't selling. To my knowledge everyone of them had sold out.
Now they want collectors to buy pieces to another Danger Room set. I think I'll pass and spend my money with a company that actually follows through with what they say they are going to produce.

I have to get a closer look, but from I can see, they all look like Happy Meal toys and not statues.

Yes they do seem quite simple and small, though big kudos for the idea. I would love to see Sideshow do something like this, though not in premium format

I agree. Concept cool, but probably overly ambitious. Execution kiddy. These look like action figures or PVCs. Then the Danger Room itself looks like a plastic activity set with rings. I think the Colossus statue being shown pushing apart the hydraulic wall or whatever it is is more the direction they should have gone. Maybe it does look cool up close, but how/where to even display? Wait and see I guess.
However with all the high end product on the market successfully selling through I would have designed this to blow the concept out. Each fig beautifully sculpted, dynamically posed, and interacting with some cool prop (think mini diorama) @ maybe 1/9 or 1/10 scale (about 7" or 8"). Each running approx. $99 Display separately option or folks could buy mixed media METAL, PLASTIC, ACRYLIC superstructure for the ultimate 4' high display. Maybe the whole thing runs $1K to $1,200 once complete and assembled. If it was a success, they could always sculpt more X-Men like Polaris, Havok, Magma, Iceman, Classic X, etc. as well as villians so folks could mix and match or expand down the line.

Thanks for that--I wasn't sure where this was really from ("Upper Deck"? Trading cards?!). Should this thread be moved?
It is a cool concept but given the track record in overall quality, this may work better as one of the "Marvel Masterworks" plastic statue/diorama pieces. Shelling out US$205 for something which is not quite up to quality(assuming close-ups confirm a lack of detail) may put a lot of people off.
A really GOOD Danger Room playset for action figures would be a much better idea, probably.
