"I Am Iron Man"
My saint of a wife suggested I take a couple of hours today and watch some of the features on the Iron Man DVD. The seven part making of the movie, titled "I Am Iron Man," was some great viewing. Beyond getting a first hand view of the incredible amount of work that went into this film, the love the cast and crew had for this project was really impressive. It really gives you a deep appreciation of the movie, even more than just appreciating the movie just on its own merits.
Check it out if you haven't already. Runs about 1 hour and 50 minutes.

I am actually disappointed a lot of the cut scenes didn't make it into the theatrical release.
While it would have made the film a little on the long side, I did feel they all (except for the military precision drill) added something of value especially the two set during the final fight.

I wasn't crazy about the cut party scene with the three girls. I'm glad that didn't make the cut.

It did sort of explain how he could fly from California to Afghanistan.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

So is the consensus that someone who hasn't seen it yet should watch the theatrical version or the extended version (assuming it's on the DVD)?

Well, my post was more about the Making of the Movie feature rather than deleted/extended scenes.
Since the thread's going that way, I did like the deleted scenes as well, except, as mentioned for the party scene with all the girls.
