Magneto vs. Graviton
Two masters of elemental forces. What do you think? Seems to me, if Graviton's not wearing anything metal, he'd just ram Magneto through the ground.

I dont know Graviton's true potential, though I do remember the Thing and Black Bolt beating him in an old MTIO annual.
According to the OHOTMU, Magneto essentially has no upper limit to his power. I'm thinking that even if Gravvy drops Mags with his power, Mags can override his power and destroy him.
Magneto wins!

While Graviton is more powerful than Magneto (yep, that's right), I give the edge to Magneto.
Graviton finds a way to lose despite his power, it's a shortcoming of his character.

True about his always seeming to find a way to lose. I was just thinking about shear power vs. power. That said, I agree you can't take the character flaws out of the characters.

Thanks, Eric. How do you think magnetism can overcome gravity, though? Seriously curious.

Graviton versus just about every hero in Manhattan.
Guess who won?
Let's see Magneto pull something on this scale this off.

If we take gravity as the Gedoetic effect from General Relativity then, at full power and manipulation I gotta go with Graviton.
However if we take gravity as graviton particles which are polarised then I gotta go with Mags.
However, we are not fully at the stage of proving that Graviton's exist therefore I would take the first model.
I'm picturing Graviton being able to use his powers fully/effectively and create a singularity to suck in and crush Magneto.
It pains me to say that since Magneto is one of my favourite characters in the MU.

Good question.
I think the power of both is relative. I think the size of the magnet determines the power to overcome gravity. And even then, only so much (like you could use a magnet to life something off the floor, but its unlikely you could use the same magnet to leave earth's gravity).
When we look at Magneto's power (and look at HOTMU) we see that he's used his power to lift things that weigh thousands of tons. He has the power to overcome gravity, and I'm pretty sure he could hurl something into space using his power.
Given that his power is almost limitless, and using these examples, I think he has more than enough power to defeat Graviton, as he has demonstrated the power to overcome gravity itself. Does that make sense?
Thanks for pushing on this Joe.
