I HATE $^&%**%# INSURANCE!!!
health insurance at work just jumped $210 a month because i turned 50. i've had it three years and have only made ONE claim, to see a doctor for a sinus infection and he prescribed anti-biotics.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they've made healthcare so unaffordable that you have to have insurance to pay the enormous costs. then the insurance companies can rake you over the coals. 6 of one of half dozen of the other. but if i was a pregnant teen with 5 kids, they get a free ride. with all the money we pay in taxes, we should have some coverage. is that so unreasonable?

Welcome to the over 50 club! 
I've paid thousands over my life time for home owners insurance and never filed a claim. It's there for "just in case".

more of a chance of you getting sick than your house burning down. hope you have flood insurance, that's extra.

Especially as you get older! 
burning down, thefts, hail, storm damage, accidents. There's lots of things that can happen in a home and i've never had one.
